The manual also states: that your Magura pads should be between 1.5 and 2.5 mm away from the rim. I dunno if this is any help to anyone because i don't have maguras or anythin i got v's! *grrr* Although im gettin Magura HS 33's really soon and i can't wait! hehehe

Bike Setup

Brake lever angle:Around 35-40 degrees or less down from horizontal. Try to keep them as close to around 40 degrees as you can, without gettin sore wrists. This angle will make it easier to keep a good grip on the lever in most situations Eg. When your but is lent way back over the rear wheel.

Brake lever pull: The levers should be setup so that when engaged they are approx parallel with the bars. I like it this way and i think most trials riders are the same. You don't want to have the brakes set up so tight that it only takes a little pull to lock them on, this will make the pads rub and slow down acceleration. You don't want to have them to loose either, to loose can mean the brake can't be engaged fully without pulling them right in against the bars. Having your breaks loose is also very dangerous, i strongly suggest habing them so that when pulled in they are parallel with the handlebars!!

Chain tension: The tighter the better. Supertight can wear out freewheels quickly, however... Take a look at this picture to see the difference between good chain tension and unacceptably loose chain tension. Want perfect tension on an x-lite mod? Get the Threshold x-lite tensioners
